Kandi was born in Illinois, but has lived in California (the Sacramento area) for the majority of her life. She takes her art very seriously, taking weekly classes, workshops, and studying national and international watercolorists.

Kandi has won numerous awards, locally, nationally, and internationally. Her works have been accepted and displayed in many major art shows.

Painting for Kandi is a spiritual event - whether doing flowers, animals, or commissioned portraits. Her focus in on value (light to dark), color, and design.
